David Warder

David Warder is a co-owner of Zen Sanctuary on Adams Avenue in San Diego, and works there as a massage therapist offering TEC Massage. He and Leah Warder became co-owners in 2008, and he continues to see clients alongside his role running the studio.

His TEC Massage sessions can lean toward relaxation or toward solving a specific problem, and can focus on one area or the whole body. They run 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes, priced at $117, $233, $350 and $467. Clients talk with him before the session to decide what kind of work fits their goals. His toolkit includes neuromuscular work, deep tissue, traditional Thai, prenatal massage, tui na, PNF stretching and sports massage. He is the only therapist at the studio who offers mat massage, done on a floor mat in workout or yoga clothing. An introductory rate for a first TEC session can be discussed with him.

He works with athletes, pregnant clients and business professionals. For relaxing sessions he uses continuous, rhythmic technique drawn from Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, and his specialties include triggerpoint therapy and Zen shiatsu.
