Corey S. Maas

Corey S. Maas founded The Maas Clinic for Aesthetic and Facial Plastic Surgery in San Francisco in 2001, following his full-time faculty post at UCSF. At UCSF he led the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as Chief for more than 11 years. He also founded The Appearance Care Center, a medical day spa, and serves there as medical director. He holds the appointment of Associate Clinical Professor at UCSF, where he teaches medical students and residents in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. For over 20 years he has directed the AAFPRS Educational and Research Foundation fellowship, a one-year postgraduate program in which the fellow works alongside him in surgery and patient care. His research has focused on materials and implants for soft tissue augmentation and on neurotoxins used for facial aesthetics. He has co-authored more than 150 articles, contributed book chapters, and served as principal investigator for over 40 clinical trials. He has written 510(k) applications that led to further FDA clearances for products and has consulted for pharmaceutical and surgical device manufacturers. He lectures regularly at society meetings in the US and abroad. He has served as president of the California Society of Facial Plastic Surgery and of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He received the Readers' Choice Award for Best Cosmetic Surgeon from the San Francisco Examiner and SF Weekly. He performs FUE and FUT hair transplants under local anesthesia containing epinephrine. He has been featured in Allure, Vogue, NewBeauty, The Zoe Report, InStyle, SFGate, AEDIT and the Los Angeles Times, as well as in Cosmetic Surgery Times, Dermatology Times and Modern Aesthetics.
