Carter G. Abel

Carter G. Abel is a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon at Abel Dermatology in Annandale. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Columbia University College of Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and is on the staff of Hunterdon Medical Center. He is the leading Mohs surgeon in Annandale and is recognized for teaching young physicians non-invasive cosmetic procedures at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center.

He graduated cum laude from Princeton University and received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed a dermatology residency at the University of Alabama Hospitals in Birmingham, followed by a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and cutaneous laser surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American College of Mohs' Surgery.

His clinical work centers on skin cancer surgery and procedural dermatology related to aging, including precancerous lesions and sun damage.
