Caitlin Murphy-Becker

Caitlin Murphy-Becker owns CAIT Salon on North Street in Salem and works there as a stylist and makeup artist. Her career started on the road, styling hair and applying makeup for weddings, special occasions, television productions and film. She is an award-winning celebrity hair stylist and makeup artist with about two decades of experience in both fields. Her training includes Cinema Makeup School in Hollywood, California, where she studied makeup for film, television, beauty, character and special effects, working under Academy Award-winning instructors Joel Harlow, Brad Look and Michael Spatola. She also trained at Ailano School of Cosmetology in Brockton, Massachusetts, and earned a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, concentrating in sculpture and painting. She holds cosmetology licenses for California and Massachusetts. Professional development includes Temptu Pro courses in advanced beauty, special effects and bridal makeup, MAC Pro and Makeup Forever master classes, Mr. Smith Education, and Veila Hair Extensions training. She is certified in current sanitation and disinfection protocols. Her work includes red carpet looks at the SAG Awards and the Oscars, and she has worked with more than 500 brides and bridesmaids. She also styles headshot looks. Awards include Best of Boston Wedding Hair Stylist for 2011 through 2014, Best of Boston Makeup Artist for 2013, and WeddingWire Bride's Choice Awards for 2010 through 2013.
