Bettina Howard is the founder, CEO and owner of Sanctuary Salon & Head Spa, and also works as its lead stylist and educator. She went to massage therapy school starting in 1999 and then moved into cosmetology. She is a licensed North Carolina cosmetologist with more than 20 years in the field.

Her continuing education covers cutting, color, blonding, curly hair, extensions, leadership and guest experience, and she has learned from many of the industry's top educators. Curly hair is her specialty; she developed her own curly hair approach by combining established methods with hands-on experience. She believes luxury comes from how a guest feels rather than from the service itself.
