Basem Chaker, MD

Basem Chaker, MD, owns and practices at Dermatology Southwest in Burleson, Texas. He received his medical degree in 1981 from the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University. He then completed a dermatology residency and a dermatopathology fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical School. Later he joined the UT Southwestern faculty as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology, and during that appointment he served as a Staff Dermatologist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center of Dallas. He holds certification from the American Board of Dermatology in dermatology and in dermatopathology. He co-wrote a dermatology chapter for family practice textbooks and has published several articles in medical journals.
