M Basem Chaker, MD

Basem Chaker, MD, is a dermatologist with board certification and the owner of Dermatology Southwest. He received a medical degree in 1981 from the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University, followed by a dermatology residency and a dermatopathology fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical School. He went on to the UT Southwestern faculty as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology, and while there he worked as a Staff Dermatologist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center of Dallas. His certifications from the American Board of Dermatology cover dermatology and dermatopathology. He co-wrote a dermatology chapter for family practice textbooks and has published several articles in medical journals.
