Aviva Preminger

Dr. Aviva Preminger is a board-certified plastic surgeon who owns her practice, where she performs cosmetic and reconstructive procedures on the face, breast and body. She opened Preminger Plastic Surgery as her private practice in July 2009 and served as its surgical director. She has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery since November 2010 and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since October 2012. She has almost 15 years of surgical experience. Her hospital privileges are at St. Luke's-Roosevelt, Lenox Hill, and the Manhattan and New York Eye and Ear Infirmaries.

She completed general surgery training at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell, from 2003 to 2006, then a clinical research fellowship in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Her plastic surgery residency, spanning NewYork-Presbyterian, Columbia and Cornell, ran from 2007 to 2009. Her degrees are a BA in the History of Science from Harvard, a Doctor of Medicine from Weill Medical College of Cornell, and a Master of Public Health from Columbia's Mailman School of Public Health. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard and was first in her class at Cornell. She was awarded the Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation in 2003. She also studied art at the Art Students League. Her teaching appointments at Columbia and Weill Cornell ended in June 2023. She has taught residents and fellows, lectured, and published, including work on ethics in plastic surgery.

Her practice centers on aesthetic breast surgery, including complex augmentation and revision, along with facelifts for women and men, mommy makeovers and mini tummy tucks. She aims for natural-looking results that suit each patient's other features and weighs implant type, size and placement individually. Patients can preview outcomes with 3D imaging, and each consultation is shaped around the individual's goals. She has been a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for twelve consecutive years, a New York Super Doctor for ten consecutive years, and a member of the Super Doctors Hall of Fame. She holds the ExpertInjector designation, which fewer than 3% of US doctors permitted to inject hold.
