About
Avis Saunders owns and runs Mitten Maven Studio in Berkley, and has worked in the beauty industry for more than 15 years. Her specialties include cuts, custom color, and bridal hair and makeup. She trained at the Douglas J Aveda Institute in Ann Arbor, beginning in 2009, and has taken a range of makeup classes along with bridal makeup boot camps. After cosmetology school she assisted stylists across Metro Detroit for several years. She then worked on student films, commercials and movies during the growth of Michigan's film industry. When film work slowed, she returned to working full time in the chair in Detroit.
