Astou Bele owns ASTOU Braids and braids clients herself. She has more than six years of experience in traditional West African braiding, along with African and American braiding, and she specializes in box braids, knotless braids, cornrows, twists, crochet and sew-ins.
She moved from Paris to New York to further develop her African and American braiding skills. Before she turned to braiding, she worked as a model, in fashion shows and in photography.
She works with clients of all backgrounds and cultures, and she views braiding as a relaxed time in which she aims to build a connection with each client.
