About
Assata Mayo is the founder of RichLocs and a master loctician with more than 15 years of loc experience. She decided to make loc work a career while attending Southern University. Her first business, Irie Minds, opened in Jeanerette, Louisiana, in 2014, and she later opened RichLocs The Shop in Atlanta's historic West End.
Her focus is starter locs, loc extensions, maintenance and repair. She has served more than 700 clients. Extension clients begin with a consultation to talk through their goals, work out how many locs they need and agree on a plan.
She also teaches hands-on classes, one-on-one instruction and apprenticeships.
