Dr. Amy Alderman is a board-certified plastic surgeon at North Atlanta Plastic Surgery, which has offices in Atlanta and Alpharetta, Georgia. She co-founded the practice with Dr. Aida Joiner in spring 2018. Her clinical focus is breast reconstruction and cosmetic surgery. She completed an integrated plastic surgery residency at the University of Michigan, where she was chief administrative resident. As a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar she studied health services research, and she holds a Master of Public Health. At Birmingham-Southern College she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and she was valedictorian of her class at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. She serves as a director of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, chairing its Ethics Committee after her election as a director in 2020. She has been a board examiner for the past ten years and an oral examiner since 2012. She has co-chaired Aesthetica, the ASPS Spring Meeting and the Atlanta Breast Symposium, and has performed breast surgery at the symposium. The website reports more than 200 lectures and presentations at national meetings, over 75 published articles and contributions to more than 10 textbooks. She has been Surgical Editor for the Cochrane Breast Cancer Group since 2012.
