About

YOLU Beauty Salon offers head spa treatments and blow dry styling at its location on W 3rd Street in Los Angeles. The name YOLU comes from the Japanese word for night, and the salon describes itself as an authentic Japanese brand bringing traditional Japanese head spa techniques to the US. Its approach draws on the Japanese idea of nighttime beauty.

The head spa menu is built around three signature treatments: Yowa, which runs 75 minutes, Sayo at 60 minutes, and Yoi at 45 minutes. Each one starts with a head bath, moves into cleansing and treatment application, and finishes with a professional blow dry. Robes and towels are provided, so clients do not need to bring a change of clothes, and the salon advises avoiding heavy styling products beforehand. A Scalp Focus Head Spa is also offered. The salon says head spa treatments can support scalp condition, ease tension, support circulation and hair growth, lift facial features and aid sleep quality. It suggests booking every one to two weeks for the best results.

The Blow Dry Bar services are grouped under Cleanse and Dry. Cleanse and Dry is a shorter scalp and hair refresh that includes a shampoo, a treatment, scalp serum and professional blow dry styling. Every blow dry includes a cleansing step, so clients can arrive with either clean or dirty hair. Styling with hot tools such as curling irons and flat irons can be added to any treatment. Stylists welcome inspiration photos and will talk through how a look can be adapted to a client's hair type, length and texture.

The salon sells its own line of products made in Japan, including a Rejuvenating Shampoo, Hydrating Conditioner, Scalp Serum and Protecting Hair Oil, plus a travel-size Overnight Hair and Scalp Care Kit. Listed prices are $35 for the shampoo and conditioner (45 ml and 45 g), $38 for the scalp serum and hair oil (10 ml each), and $32 for the four-product kit.

Booking is by appointment, and website bookings are not confirmed until a confirmation message is received. Clients are asked to arrive at least 10 minutes early, and 10 to 15 minutes is recommended for check-in and a short consultation. Free cancellation or rescheduling is available with at least 24 hours notice. Later cancellations are charged 50% of the service price, and no-shows are charged the full price. Groups of four or more need 48 hours notice. A credit card may be requested to hold a booking. Gratuities are not included in service prices. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, Apple Pay and Google Pay are accepted, but cash is not. Parking is on the street nearby, with valet at several locations and public lots within walking distance. Digital head spa gift cards are sold on the website.

The salon bases its work on Japanese head spa methods and on the Japanese idea of nighttime beauty, with each treatment built around a scalp cleanse and a finishing blow dry.
