Brow services start with mapping, so the shape is planned before the wax or treatment begins. Waxing uses soft wax for custom shaping and takes about 10 minutes or more. Brow lamination adds fluff and definition, and includes mapping, lamination and soft-wax shaping; it takes about 1 hour 15 minutes or more. Ombre brow clients are given preparation guidance: avoid caffeine, tea, energy drinks, aspirin, ibuprofen and alcohol for 48 hours before; avoid tweezing, threading, waxing, retinol, brow tint and tanning for 2 weeks before; and avoid Botox, filler, chemical peels, facials and skin treatments for 4 weeks before. Brow lamination clients using retinol should stop at least two weeks before the appointment. Healing guidance covers flaking, scabbing and itchiness in the first two weeks, a lighter stage called ghosting before pigment resurfaces, and avoiding sun, tanning, facials, Botox and chemical treatments for 4 weeks afterward.
