Yayalash is an eyelash salon at 1150 University Avenue, Building 5, Suite 3, in Rochester. Its lash menu covers volume, single and flat extension sets, along with keratin lash lifts. Brow services include tinting, staining, waxing, lamination and styling, with mapping and shaping as extra options. The skin studio, Yayaskinstudio, offers facials, waxing and massage.

Volume extensions place several thinner lashes on each natural lash, typically three to five per lash. Single extensions come in J, C and D curls, with C the most popular. The salon uses Sable lash for its volume and single extensions. Clients who had their full set at Yayalash can book three-week touch-ups, and the salon describes its lash experts as state-certified Japanese lash experts. Clients are asked not to wear curler or eye makeup before an extension appointment, and to keep extensions dry and unwashed for at least six hours, ideally 24.

The keratin lash lift uses silicone rods to lift and curl natural lashes. A session takes about one to one and a half hours, and the result usually lasts six to eight weeks with proper care. A first-time keratin lash lift is discounted by 10 percent, at $108.

At the skin studio, the salon describes its facial products as organic, non-toxic, clean and high performing. Facial options include acne treatment with extraction, anti-aging and hydration, detox, vitamin C brightening, and pumpkin peel or dermaplaning. A PCA chemical peel starts at $100, and Swedish massage is offered in 60- and 90-minute sessions, customized to each client. The salon says its Source Capture ventilation removes and captures 99.97 percent of microscopic particles such as viruses, allergens and dust. Home visits cost an extra $50 or more.

Cancellations or changes need at least 24 hours notice, and late notice incurs a fee of 50 percent of the appointment. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late count as cancellations and incur a fee, and clients who arrive more than 10 minutes late may be asked to reschedule. Cash and Venmo are accepted, and gratuity is appreciated.
