Xenana Spa has been treating clients in Portland since 2008. It is woman-owned and operated by a licensed massage therapist, and it blends bodywork with holistic esthetics. The spa lists authenticity, connection, community, excellence and commitment as its values.

About

Massage is grouped into essential and restorative work, therapeutic and corrective sessions, and specialized care. Every massage includes a heated table and warm towels, and herbal tea is offered on arrival. Nurture and Deep Tissue massages run 60, 75 or 90 minutes for $135, $165 or $185, and Grounding Massage, which uses the spa's own grounding essential oil blend, is $175 for 75 minutes or $195 for 90.

Prenatal massage is a particular specialty. Sessions use a side-lying setup with a body pillow, bolsters and a hip-aligning pillow, a method developed by owner Kelley Burke, who has 20 years of birth work as a midwife and doula. The prenatal and postpartum package is four 75-minute sessions for $620, paid upfront, with the first three as prenatal massages and the fourth as a postpartum massage after provider clearance or a Principle Facial. Medical massage costs $240 and requires a doctor's referral and diagnosis before booking. The spa does not bill health insurance directly but provides CPT codes, SOAP notes and a superbill so clients can submit claims themselves, with coverage varying by plan.

Skin care covers facials, microneedling, microcurrent programs and facial add-ons. Eminence Organic Skin Care is used in facials. Infusion Facials use microchanneling with the Revitapen Pro and customized Osmosis serums and powders, and the Bio Ultimate Lift Microcurrent Facial uses the BioTherapeutic Bio-Ultimate Platinum system and finishes with LED. The spa describes microcurrent as the gold standard in non-invasive age management. New clients can book a Skin Strategy Session for $115, which includes a $45 product credit and is a personalized starting point for skin. Clients are advised to wait 7 to 14 days after Botox before a microcurrent facial, and infusion facials, microchanneling and microneedling are not offered during pregnancy.

Hours are Monday to Saturday 10am to 6pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm. Bookings can be made by phone at (503) 238-6262 or by email at appointments@xenanaspa.com. A payment method must be kept on file, and 24 hours' notice is needed to reschedule or cancel a single appointment, with 72 hours for groups or packages of three or more services. Cancellations inside those windows are charged the full fee. Gratuity is not included in prices, and 15 to 20 percent is customary. Membership is $125 per month, added to an account credit that does not expire, and gift cards and certificates are available.
