Winks.Inc was established in 2017 and is founded and led by Ayana Tate, a licensed cosmetologist. The salon describes itself as a destination for refined hair care and says its approach blends artistry with science, with a focus on hair growth and strength.

A basic wash and treatment includes a shampoo, a deep conditioning treatment and a precision trim or haircut, with the hair blow-dried only. The Signature Haircut is an add-on and is not part of the wash and treatment or the silk press package. The silk press and wash and curl packages begin with a deep consultation, and the wash and curl adds a clarifying shampoo and pin up.

Extension and weave services are planned in advance. Tape-in extensions start with an in-person consultation to go over upkeep, styling and budget, and the $50 consultation deposit goes toward the first extension service. Tape-ins are reusable and typically last six to eight weeks with care, with upkeep two to three times a month. The traditional quick weave includes a full wash and conditioning first and needs human or pack hair. The closure quick weave uses a client-supplied 2x6 HD closure and three to four bundles of 100% human hair, which must be dropped off at least five days before the appointment.

The Glow & Grow Membership is a monthly plan with two styling sessions, either a silk press or a wash and curl, a hydrating hair mask at each visit, hair vitamins and a personalized hair regimen. Sessions must be booked within the month and unused sessions do not carry over. The Healthy Hair Reset is for major breakage or a fresh start with a cut of more than one inch, and the Updo Formal Style is designed for weddings, proms and special occasions.

The salon is open Monday from 8 AM to 8 PM and Sunday from 8 AM to 8:30 PM, and is closed Tuesday through Saturday. A valid card is required to secure appointments. Cancellations or reschedules need at least 24 hours notice; later cancellations are charged half the scheduled service, and no-shows are charged the full amount. Arrivals 10 or more minutes late get a $20 late fee, and arrivals more than 15 minutes late may be rescheduled and treated as a late cancellation. Final payment is accepted in exact cash or Cash App only. Buy Now, Pay Later is available in person for bookings from $50 to $4,000, with approval needed before the appointment.
