The Downtown salon opened that March with three chairs and expanded into the adjoining space in 2015, growing from 5 to 11 chairs. A Bee Cave-Lakeway location opened in February 2014 and a Westlake location followed in September 2014. The salon describes itself as a growing luxury salon brand in Austin. In 2016 it launched Credible Culture, a boutique salon distribution company, and in spring 2018 it made Goldwell its primary color line.

Wild Orchid Salon was founded by Danielle Benson, who took over a lease on a 695 square foot space on West 3rd Street in Downtown Austin in February 2012. A Bee Cave-Lakeway location opened in February 2014 and a Westlake location followed in September 2014. The salon describes itself as a growing luxury salon brand in Austin. The salon says Austin Monthly magazine named it Best Salon in Austin in its 2014 reader's poll and again in 2015, and that founder Danielle was recognized as Best Men's Stylist in the same magazine's reader poll. It is a Featured Oribe Salon through a partnership with Luxury Brand Partners, has joined the Wella Global Elite program, and holds the highest level of Brazilian Blowout certification as a Master Certified Brazilian Blowout Salon. Stylists attend monthly in-salon education led by master educators from Goldwell, Oribe, Brazilian Blowout and others, and travel to Sassoon, Oribe and Goldwell studios in New York, Los Angeles and Miami for further training. Stylists must complete a certification process before doing balayage.

Color work covers single process color, glosses, balayage, highlights, lowlights, foils and color corrections, with Goldwell Couture color looks offered as signature styles. Starting prices include single process color from $106 at Downtown and $121 at Bee Cave, and full balayage from $193 at Downtown and $215 at Bee Cave. Brazilian Blowout can be customized either to keep curl while reducing frizz or to create a straight, sleek finish. It takes about 90 to 120 minutes and the salon says results last up to 12 weeks with no downtime. Brazilian Blowout Express smooths and cleanses in one step in 60 minutes or less and reduces frizz for about 4 weeks. Brazilian Blowout FREE is formulated without formaldehyde, methylene glycol, formalin or formaldehyde derivatives. Starting prices for Brazilian Blowout are $308 at Downtown and Westlake and $339 at Bee Cave, and Keratin Complex smoothing starts at $308 at Westlake.

Hair extensions are offered through HotHeads, Great Lengths, Invisitab and NXS, and the salon is not tied to a single extension supplier. Extensions use top-grade human hair, which may be reusable for up to one year depending on type, and come in dozens of colors that can create highlight or lowlight effects without color processing. Every client gets a free comprehensive extension consultation with a free test extension, by appointment only. Packages include the extension hair, installation, a cut, styling and a follow-up appointment at 2 to 4 weeks. The salon says its extension pricing is fully transparent with no add-on charges. Great Lengths requires a $100 consultation, and Halo Contour, Tape-In and HotHeads pricing depends on length and a consultation. Makeup application is available for standard and special occasions at $95, for bridal parties at $75 to $85, and for brides at $95 to $150, with on-location service carrying additional charges. Bridal updos cost $95 to $150 and require a run-through.

Visits are booked by appointment and clients are asked to arrive 5 minutes before a first treatment, as treatments end on time. A credit card must be on file to book, and it is charged only for missed appointments or cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice, which otherwise carries a charge of 50% of the scheduled service. Full-day services require a non-refundable $1,000 deposit at booking and cancellations need 72 hours notice during business hours. Clients may request a complimentary adjustment within 7 days of service, scheduled within 14 days of the original appointment. Children under 10 may not visit during a parent's appointment or wait unattended, and parents are encouraged to come without children unless the child has an appointment. Downtown has a garage next to the suite, with complimentary parking for up to 60 minutes. Complimentary wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee, tea and snacks are offered, and outside alcohol is not allowed.
