Waxed by Dak

Waxed by Dak is a studio in Norman, Oklahoma that focuses on Brazilian waxing and eyebrow work. The salon describes itself as Norman's Brazilian waxing salon. Appointments are required and walk-ins are not accepted. Bookings can be made online through Gloss Genius, or by texting 405-568-5040, as the salon takes phone contact by text only.

The studio is on the second floor of the JMC Building, office 212, just off I-35 at Robinson, with parking in front of the building. Later appointments and Saturday appointments use a door code, which is sent on the day of the visit.

Beyond Brazilian and body waxing, the menu includes eyebrow waxing with mapping, concealer and styling gel, brow tinting with waxing, brow lamination with or without tint, and lash lifts with tint. Body waxing covers underarms, nose, ears, legs, arms, chest and back. Men's waxing covers Brazilian waxing and back waxing. An optional vajacial treatment for ingrown hair on the pubic mound uses vitamin C and E oils, a hydrojelly mask and tweezing.

Clients receive preparation and aftercare guidance for each service. Hair should be about a quarter inch long before waxing, and clients are asked not to trim or shave beforehand and to exfoliate 24 hours before. Caffeine and alcohol are best avoided before an appointment, and ibuprofen may be taken 30 minutes prior. Waxing maintenance every four weeks is recommended. After waxing, heat, sweating, friction and bodies of water should be avoided for 48 hours. After brow or lash treatments, moisture, makeup and oil-based products should be avoided for 24 hours.
