Cindy launched Water and Leaf Skincare to develop her own methods and treatments. She has performed more than ten thousand facials on a wide range of skin types and conditions. Earlier, she was lead esthetician at a spa with five locations, where she trained and mentored new estheticians, and she worked as a medical esthetician at a medical spa, alongside a doctor on advanced medical esthetic procedures.

Each facial combines customized non-invasive treatments. The business looks at the connection between mind, body and spirit, and it holds that anyone can reach the skin they want with the right products, lifestyle habits and skincare techniques. Clients can book monthly facials, add on extra services, or combine services into a custom package.

The Clear & Acne Free Program runs three to six months. Visits are every two weeks for the first 12 weeks, then follow-ups two to three weeks apart until the skin is clear. Home-care products are required and cost approximately $175 for a six to eight week supply; the program is not offered without that purchase. Results depend on adherence, product use and lifestyle changes. The business states that acne can be controlled but not cured. Clients should stop prescription topical acne treatments two weeks before the first appointment, and must be off Accutane for three months before it.

Clients should mention medical conditions, allergies and sensitivities when booking and arrive 10 to 15 minutes early. Booking requires a credit card or gift certificate to hold the appointment, and cards are charged only for cancellations or no-shows. Cancellations need at least 48 hours' notice; late cancellations, frequent rescheduling or no-shows may be charged up to the full service cost. Arriving more than 15 minutes late without notice means the full price. A $50 non-refundable deposit applies after three reschedules. Gratuity is not included; customary tipping is 15% to 30%, at the client's discretion.

Online product returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for new, unopened items. Final sale, clearance and gift card purchases cannot be returned. Defective home-use products can be exchanged within 14 days of purchase, and a spa credit is issued instead of a cash refund. Gift certificates come in any amount, can be bought in person, by phone or online, and can be mailed; they cannot be redeemed for cash.
