Velyss was founded by Mirtha Valdes, who started the business as MV Lashes in 2013 and renamed it Velyss in 2017. The studio has served models and figures from the entertainment industry, and the company's own aims are quality, precision, distinction and client confidence.

Classic extensions are placed one at a time and suit clients who already have a good amount of natural lash volume and want more length. Russian volume places several very fine extensions on each natural lash, giving either a natural or a dramatic look. A Russian volume appointment can run up to three hours. Clients are asked to arrive without eye makeup for any lash service.

Lash lift and tint adds a semi-permanent curl to natural lashes and darkens blond and light brown lashes. Extension refills are recommended every two weeks for classic and every three weeks for Russian volume, and a visit only counts as a refill if at least half of the previous full set remains.

The academy teaches lash artists through a two-day classic course for beginners, a two-day Russian volume course for first-timers or experienced volume artists, and a three-day bundle that combines both. An online masterclass covers the basics in one day and includes certification and a starter kit.

Each service is designed around the individual client, with the health of natural lashes kept in view.
