Visits for extensions begin with a complimentary, in-person consultation. During that appointment the pros and cons of each method are weighed against lifestyle, hair density and the health of the hair and scalp. Custom blends of methods can be built around a client's routine and budget. Fantasy color also requires a consultation before booking. The salon will only go ahead with an extension install when it is confident the install will not harm the hair or scalp.
Beyond extensions, the studio does blonding and fantasy color, root touch-ups for grey coverage, highlights and balayage, trendy cuts and styles, Box Braids, blowouts, event styling, keratin smoothing, deep conditioning and detangling. Bridal hair and makeup are available, with three wedding packages and Extension Rentals for a wedding or special event, which requires a visit at least two weeks ahead.
The studio is private and relaxing. To find it, turn left after entering the front doors of Sola Salon Studios and look for Studio #26. Appointments are offered Tuesday through Saturday, with Thursday evenings open until 7 PM, and clients may bring work, a laptop or a book. The phone number is (973) 944-0399.
