Unique Crown Braid Co. was founded in 2019 by April Michelle and centers on knotless box braids, styled to look polished while protecting and caring for the hair underneath. Knotless and boho knotless styles are offered in small, medium, large and smedium sizes, with a range of braid colors and length add-ons.

About

Bookings are made through the studio's GlossGenius booking site. Clients pick a hair color and add-ons from the drop-down menus at each step, and if all three are not chosen, the default color is 1B. Hair must be at least 4 inches long all around, all hair used in services is supplied by the studio, and shampoo with steam treatment is included. Fresh trims are discouraged before braiding, and the studio does not braid non-textured or straight hair. Some services need a deposit, including Large Knotless Box Braids ($25), 100% Human Hair Boho Braids ($75) and Mini Traditional Locs ($100). Buy Now, Pay Later financing is available for bookings from $50 to $4,000 if approved before the appointment.

Cancellations must be received at least 48 hours ahead; later cancellations are charged 75% of the service. A travel fee starting at $100 applies to appointments away from the studio. Gift cards come in $50, $75, $100 and $200 amounts or a custom amount and are final sale. The studio is open Monday through Wednesday from 6 AM to 10 PM, Thursday and Friday from 6 AM to 3 PM, and closed on weekends.
