Tzipporah Braiding Studio LLC works in protective styling at 2178 Savannah Highway in Charleston. The menu runs from small braid sets and children's pin-up locs to long faux locs, knotless braids and micro soft locs.

Prices are listed per style and many depend on length or hair type. Box braids start at $275 for the Tzipporah Bob Box Braids, while a 2-braid set or a natural hair braid down is $65. Invisible locs are priced by hair length, from $300 for bob length up to $600 for booty length, and need at least three feet of hair. Clients are asked to arrive with shampooed hair.

A $375 deposit is due at booking and $1,000 is due on the day of the appointment. The price does not change with length, hair is included, and clients choose the color when booking. Sessions longer than seven hours add $125, and natural hair beyond six inches adds $125. Natural hair past shoulder length of six to eight inches can add up to $225 more. The studio describes the locs as lightweight and says they can last up to six months with proper care.

Cancellations must be made by phone at least 48 hours ahead; texts, emails and messages are not accepted. Booking retainers are non-refundable and cancelled bookings are not refunded, though clients can re-book. The studio says it charges no late fees. A $100 new client retention fee applies. The studio has worked with sponsoring hair brands since 2016. Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm, and Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The studio is closed on Sundays. A training class is listed at $350 and runs about two hours.
