The stated goal is to help clients accept the natural shape of their curls, keep those curls healthy, and feel free to express their individuality. The room has an Alice in Wonderland theme with mirrors and teacup chandeliers, and there is a parking lot behind the building. The salon has served clients traveling from North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Canada and South Korea. It states that all of its stylists are trained in cutting and coloring curly hair.

A visit starts with hair in its natural curly state. Clients are asked to arrive with dry hair that has some product in it, not in a ponytail or pulled back. Curly cuts and most haircuts are done on dry hair. New curly clients are mailed a new client form after booking and are asked to complete it. Color services require a consultation before booking, and custom color pricing depends on hair length, thickness and service time, so clients are asked to call for a quote.

Cut prices are a base price that varies with the curl's needs and the stylist's experience level. An extra charge may apply if hair needs detangling or runs past the booked time. Apprentices are trained by the salon and may cut at a lower price. Wedding clients have an initial consultation to complete a brochure and contract, and they receive a fee schedule that includes any off-site work.

Appointments are secured with a credit card. Cancellations and rebooking need 72 hours' notice, and cancellations or missed appointments without that notice may be charged part or all of the service price. Full or half price may be charged for a missed appointment, and a second no-show may require prepayment or cause the next service to be refused.
