Tricia Partlow Therapies

Tricia Partlow Therapies is a private practice led by Tricia Partlow, a licensed massage therapist and Thai bodyworker. Visits are booked by appointment only. The practice describes itself as clinical and intuitive. It operates from inside the Garrett Wellness Center at 3020 N Kimball Ave, roughly a block and a half south of the Belmont stop on the Blue Line. For drivers, a lot sits one block south on Kimball and is reached through the alley just below it. Curbside spaces along the west side of Kimball cost nothing on Sundays.

Sessions run 90 or 120 minutes, priced at 210 and 270 dollars. Western clinical massage is done skin to skin, usually with oil, with the body draped and uncovered one area at a time. Western massage uses a gender neutral draping approach with a chest drape for every client, and Jojoba oil is the default. Clients can ask for cream or no lubricant, or for no oil near the hair or face. Thai bodywork is done fully clothed on a floor mat, combining compression and stretching with breath. For Thai sessions, comfortable clothing such as a t-shirt with yoga or pajama pants works well; shorts and tank tops are not recommended.

Pregnancy massage is available in both Western and Thai styles and requires permission from the client's doctor. Sports massage is offered alongside training and recovery and can support healing from injury and overuse strain. Add-ons include a hot stone treatment using heated volcanic rocks with Jojoba oil, a shea butter foot wrap with hot towels, and a Thai herbal compress of steamed herbs that can be used in either Thai or Western sessions.

Visits are arranged in advance. Payment is due at booking and is accepted by Zelle, Cash App or Venmo, with a 5 dollar fee on Venmo. Cancellations with at least 24 hours notice are refunded, and clients who are symptomatic can reschedule without penalty with more than two hours notice. There is no receptionist, so clients call or text when they arrive to be let into the building. Shower use is available before or after a session if it is reserved when booking. The practice states that massage therapy is healthcare, and that tipping is not appropriate in that setting.

The practice treats each client as the source of the healing process and builds the session around the individual, with longer appointments so clients can relax and the practitioner can work without rushing.
