Touch of Tay Esthetics started as a small setup in the owner's home in Berkley before moving into its studio in Ferndale. The business was founded to help women feel comfortable and confident during their waxing appointments.

The studio is women-only and does not offer men's waxing. Guests can wait in the lobby, and children in strollers may stay in the studio during appointments as long as they remain in the stroller. Clients under 18 need a signed consent form from a parent or legal guardian, and that adult must be in the room during the service.

Body waxing covers underarms, bikini areas, the back, stomach, butt, and arms and legs in full, half, and partial sections. Brow services include waxing, trimming, tweezing, tinting, and brow lamination, which can be combined with wax and tint. Facial areas, hairline, hands, feet and toes, and a jelly mask after waxing are also offered. The studio uses hard and soft wax and does not offer sugar waxing. Hair should be about a quarter inch long before it is waxed.

Packages of six or twelve brow waxes or Brazilian waxes are priced as a set. Brazilian maintenance is available within four to five weeks of a previous Brazilian wax with the business, and a Brazilian wax can be done during a period when a clean tampon or menstrual cup is in place at the start of the service.
