Topknotnails is a one-person studio run by Sarah, who owns it and does the nail art herself. She spent her first seven years as a licensed nail professional working in salons before opening her own studio in 2020. The studio describes itself as a fun, comfortable and safe place to visit.
Appointments are one-on-one, with time for art and conversation. Three manicure styles are offered. Sparkle Motion Manicure ($150, about 2 hours) lets clients choose a nude or solid base with glitter, chrome, holo powder, cat eye or foil, with free sparkle upgrades available, though hand-painted art is not part of it. Artist Choice Manicure ($200, about 2 hours 30 minutes) gives the artist full creative freedom over the design. Custom Art Manicure (from $170, 2 hours or more) is built from ideas or references the client brings, and designs outside the artist's scope may be declined.
Every manicure begins with gentle removal of the previous design, then a dry manicure with nail shaping and cuticle care done with an e-file. A hard gel overlay follows, and the appointment finishes with cuticle oil and hand lotion. Gentle removal is also sold on its own from $50, for work done by another nail artist or for removal after a visit. Removal covers regular gel and builder gel, but not extensions, acrylic, polygel, jewels, embellishments or gel X.
Booking is done through the website, with availability shown up to a month ahead. Changes made more than 48 hours in advance can be handled online; shorter notice requires a text and carries a $100 fee, and cancelling with less than 12 hours' notice is charged the full service cost. Clients should send inspiration photos by text at least two days before the visit. The studio offers a three-day guarantee for issues on its end if clients text within 72 hours of the appointment.
Focuses on natural nail health and rehabilitation, with a judgment-free space for clients who want to feel at ease.
The studio describes its setting as fun, comfortable and safe.
