Topics began its work in the hair care industry in 2008 and was started by a family. The salon's name is built from letters of the founding family members' names, and the About page is signed by Todd, Brooke, Paige, Lori and Chad Stafford.

The salon was built around the idea that good style should be affordable. It offers high-end color and cutting at accessible prices, and it describes itself as holding a high standard across all of its work.

Clients who visit can book ahead or simply come in, since appointments are welcome but not required. Stylists work within a performance-based level system, so guests can choose the level that fits their needs and budget. Before any service, a stylist runs a thorough consultation to decide which products or services are likely to give the best results. Vivid colors and corrective color are priced after consultation, and price ranges leave out cut and style, so additional charges can apply.

Both locations are near restaurants, grocery stores and locally owned specialty shops. The Fayetteville location is at 840 S. Glynn Street, and the Peachtree City location is at 1200 Highway 74 South. Both are open Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Stylists are held to Redken standards for consultation and service, and a thorough consultation comes before any recommendation.
