Beauty Lab occupies a clean, white space with a full display of nail polish for clients to browse. Beauty Cafe in Inwood feels more laid-back and includes pedicure chairs and an illuminated polish display. Its café menu is made on site and covers espresso, matcha, tea and other beverages. Both locations provide nail and skin treatments, and Beauty Lab also offers lash extensions, including volume Russian sets.

Facial work centers on custom treatments using Eminence Organics products, along with options such as dermaplaning, microneedling, BioRePeel and microdermabrasion. Pedicures are a major part of the menu, from the Signature Jelly Pedicure to longer Jelly Spa rituals with Milk & Honey, Relaxing Lavender, Detoxifying Charcoal, an Eminence Organics botanical option, and a Chocolate Martini version. Every pedicure ends with a hot stone massage.

The business says it is LGBTQ+ friendly, a transgender safe space, and aims to keep both studios inclusive. Tools are sterilized between every client, manicures use single-use tools for each client, and the studios say they follow CDC and New York State health guidelines.

Appointments can be made online or by phone. Cancellations and reschedules require at least 2 hours' notice. Clients get a 15-minute grace period after their arrival time. Late changes and no-shows incur a charge of 50% of the service price. Apres Gel-X and design services require a 50% deposit, which is non-refundable. Tomy Rivero Beauty Academy provides practical instruction in nail artistry, makeup and brow design, and caps each class at 8 students. The nail technology program is designed to prepare students for New York State licensing requirements.

Stylists ask about shape, length, color and finish before starting a set, and the studios say they sterilize tools between every client and use single-use tools for manicures.
