Toka Salon Great Falls

Toka was founded by Nuri Yurt, who left Istanbul for the United States in 1990 and opened the flagship Toka Salon in Washington, DC in 1997. The name comes from a Turkish word meaning that which connects, or the act of connecting.

The salon has three locations: the New York salon on floors five and six of 601 Madison Avenue between 57th and 58th Streets, which sits above street level and is not easily seen from the sidewalk; a Great Falls, Virginia location on Georgetown Pike; and a Washington, DC location on Prospect Street NW. The New York space is described as refined and modern.

Services are grouped into Style, Color, Treatments, Makeup and Brow, and Nails. Style covers haircuts, blow-dries, up-dos, bridal hair trials and extensions, with bridal work and extensions arranged by consultation. Color includes single process color, full highlights, balayage, toner and corrective color, the last of which is priced after a consultation.

Treatments range from express and deep conditioning to Olaplex, Milbon, keratin, PH Balance antifrizz and Japanese straightening. Makeup and brow services include makeup application, threading, waxing or tweezing, eyebrow microblading and eyelash lifts. Nail services cover manicures, pedicures, gel removal and gel polish.

Clients can book online through the website, and the New York location also takes bookings through Fresha. Gift cards are sold in set amounts of $40, $75, $125, $150, $250, or a custom amount.
