Tips 202 is a nail salon at 1821 7th Street NW in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The salon is scheduled to open in October 2026 and is an expansion of Tips 312, which opened in Chicago in 2023.
The salon was founded by Meghan, who has been getting nail services since age 13. Before opening the salon, the founder graduated from an HBCU on the East Coast and worked in property management. According to the salon, its Chicago business was recognized as a Chicago Bulls Spotlight Business and selected for the Chicago Sky Cohort in 2025, and has been featured in The Tribe, Windy City Weekend and NBC 5 Chicago.
The salon says it aims to develop and support nail talent that has often been overlooked, with long-term success in mind. It is hiring nail technicians and guest services staff for the D.C. location.
Nail repair starts at $8 per nail. A $5 service fee applies to each service and is charged at checkout; the salon says this covers products, equipment maintenance and ongoing training for nail technicians. Gel polish repair prices do not include replacing nail art from the previous set, which is charged as an additional design fee. Prices are subject to change.
Before and after photos are taken of every service, and clients may ask that their photos not be used for social media or marketing. Design services are confirmed on one nail during consultation and charged once all designs are placed. Repairs are not offered for sets done elsewhere, and fill-in services are not covered.
According to the salon, the aim is to develop and support overlooked nail talent for long-term success.
