Tiara sits on Western Avenue just past downtown Lake Forest, with parking directly in front of the salon. It is open Monday from 9 am to 2 pm, Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, and on Sundays by appointment only. Holiday closures can affect hours, and services and prices may change without notice.

About

Kristina has operated Tiara for nearly a decade. Before opening her own salon, she spent time in Europe, came back to Chicago, and worked in her family's salon. A Forest & Bluff Magazine article calls Tiara the salon Kristina owns on Western Avenue. The salon describes itself as one of the premier salons on the North Shore and in Lake Forest, and says its stylists are recognized for forecasting trends and developing new styles and color techniques.

The salon describes its atmosphere as warm and friendly, with a spa feel and the convenience of the suburbs. Every service begins with a consultation to talk through what the client wants and the details before any work starts.

Spa parties are offered for bridal showers, employee retreats, birthdays and teen groups, and are customized to the group. Bookings are requested at least one month ahead and are made by calling the salon and asking for Kristina. A bridal party of five or more, not counting the bride, receives 10% off bridal services.

Each visit starts with a consultation to settle direction and details before a service begins. The owner says much of the team has been with her since the salon opened, because they share a similar vision.
