Thee Donna Effect is a hair business in Lanham, Maryland, where stylist Donna Nwange works on protective and braided styles. The portfolio features cornrows, retwists, twists and loc styles, and the menu is grouped into hair services, add-ons and policies.

Hair services range from feed-in cornrows and natural hair cornrows to natural hair braids, two strand and kamikaze twists, and locs. Natural hair cornrows include a personalized parting in a zig-zag, curved or straight line and a free blow-dry. Alicia Keys style feed-in cornrows also include a custom parting and a free blow-dry, using a feed-in technique; hair is not included unless the client asks for it. Some designs are booked only by direct message, and the Unique Styles and Unique Creation services are custom work, with Unique Styles able to follow an inspiration picture the client sends.

The studio is open Monday from 10 AM to 4 PM, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 4 PM to 9 PM, and Saturday from 4 PM to 8 PM, and is closed Wednesday and Sunday. Buy Now, Pay Later is available for in-person bookings from $50 to $4,000, with approval needed before the appointment. Mobile appointments are possible, but they require a non-refundable travel deposit because transportation is arranged through Uber, and an appointment is not confirmed until that deposit is received.

Cancellations and reschedules need at least 24 hours' notice. Changes made with less notice carry a charge of 25% of the full appointment cost, and that charge has to be settled before the client can book another visit. Last-minute bookings, those made at short notice, and requests falling outside normal availability are subject to a non-refundable squeeze-in fee.

Each style is tailored to the client, with custom partings and designs that can start from a photo the client sends.
