The Waxing Studio opened in 2006 and is locally owned. Its founder, Jodi, has worked in waxing and skin care for more than 24 years and regards the studio as something like a family. The studio calls itself the home of Austin's 15-minute Brazilian and says its waxing is unmatched for speed. It also says it has performed well over 200,000 waxing services for clients across central Texas.

The studio was laid out to feel as comfortable as a client's own home. It says hygiene comes first, with medical-grade disinfectants used on tools, linens changed after every client, gloves worn for all treatments, and wax never double-dipped. Waxing is done with a custom organic wax developed with scientists and beauty product manufacturers in Italy, which the studio says leaves no sticky residue and can remove fine downy hairs. An azulene after-wax soothing oil is available afterward.

For waxing, the studio asks clients to let hair grow to about a quarter inch, which takes most people about two weeks, and to avoid shaving between appointments. Shaving should be no closer than the waxing schedule. The studio says optimal results take two to three waxes at four- to six-week intervals and recommends booking about a month before a special event so clients can check how their skin reacts.

The website says the estheticians are certified and licensed. The studio is at 3601 William Cannon Dr., Suite 125, in Austin. Hygiene and cleanliness come first, and each client is treated personally by their esthetician with customized treatments aimed at skin results.
