The Wax Room & Spa opened in 2020 in Largo and offers waxing, facials and spray tans. Brittany Kaeder, a licensed esthetician, owns the studio. The team focuses on waxing and speed, and every appointment is tailored to the individual client.

Most waxing uses a European hard wax that grips the hair rather than the skin, while a Rose soft wax made for sensitive skin is used on legs and arms. Hair should be about a quarter inch long for waxing, and clients are asked to exfoliate for three days beforehand. Waxing is best repeated every three to six weeks. Clients taking Accutane are not candidates for any waxing, and the Vajacial needs at least three days after a wax. Clients should avoid pools, hot tubs, sunbathing, sexual intercourse and working out for 24 to 48 hours after waxing.

Facial options include the Back Facial, the Butt Facial, the Underarm Wax with Underarm Facial, the Vajacial for the intimate area and a shorter Express Facial. The Pretty Kitty Peel uses mandelic acid and alpha arbutin and is designed for intense bikini ingrowns. It runs five to ten days, and clients should avoid exfoliating that area for the first five days.

Intimate skin lightening treatments take about 30 minutes and work best right after the area is waxed. They can be booked singly or in packages of three. Spray tans use Glazed solutions described as vegan, cruelty-free, paraben free, gluten free and sulfate free. Clients rinse two to eight hours later, depending on how deep they want the color, and disposable thongs are available for those who want them. A monthly membership gives unlimited Signature Spray Tans.

The studio has been upgraded and thoughtfully designed. It aims to be a judgment-free, body positive space. Gift cards are sold as eGift cards in amounts of $5, $10, $20, $50 or a custom amount.
