The Wax Room Carlsbad opened on July 12, 2021, and works out of Studio 14 at its Carlsbad address. Hours are Monday and Tuesday from 8 AM to 6:30 PM and Wednesday from 10 AM to 2 PM, with the studio closed Thursday through Sunday.

About

Waxing is the core of the menu. Body services are priced by area, from underarms and neck up to full arms, legs and back, and face services range from sideburns and lip to a full face with brows. Brazilian waxing starts at $73 and includes the tush, and a bikini wax, a Brazilian and underarm combination and an inner thigh add-on are also offered. Monday and Tuesday visits have a Brazilian wax promotion at $49. A full body waxing package is $349, compared with $428 for the listed services bought separately, and new clients need a $100 deposit to book it.

Repeat clients can buy the Brazilian Wax Pass: three full Brazilian waxes for $135, or $45 per visit, against a regular value of $219. Visits are recommended four to six weeks apart, and the pass can be bought at the first appointment. Guests who came in through Groupon have a preferred follow-up rate of $105. The lash and brow menu covers brow tint, lash tint, a combined brow and lash tint, a two-week lash fill, brow lamination, and several lash lifts. The lash lift with tint lasts six to eight weeks, and the premium version uses a lifting technique, a custom tint and conditioning elements. Before a Brazilian wax, the studio suggests exfoliating the area and avoiding tanning for 24 to 48 hours, and it asks clients not to shave between visits. For a first full body wax, it recommends trimming hair to about a quarter inch if it is longer than half an inch. Loose clothing afterward and an over-the-counter pain reliever 20 to 30 minutes before the session are also suggested, and piercings should be removed where possible.
