The Wax Recipe is a small, appointment-only waxing studio in Goodyear. Brittney started it as her own business and works as its solo esthetician, so every visit is with her from start to finish.

Services are grouped into Recipe Bundles, Body Waxing, Bikini Area, and Face Waxing. The recipe bundles pair the most requested areas, such as Brazilian, underarms, chin, and upper lip, into a single appointment that runs from 20 to 35 minutes and is priced from $68 to $88. Single-area services range from a $12 chin or nose wax to a 45-minute full leg wax at $65, and a full face wax at $45 covers the forehead, cheeks, sideburns, upper lip, chin, and jawline. Nose waxing covers only the visible front portion of the nostril.

Each appointment is one-on-one and unhurried, and Brittney enjoys getting to know her clients so that each visit feels personal. First-time clients are welcome, no previous waxing experience is needed to book, and she walks newcomers through the process in a judgment-free setting.

Before booking, appointments must be made at least 24 hours ahead and a deposit is required to hold the time; the deposit amount depends on the service. Cancellations or rescheduling need at least 24 hours' notice, and late cancellations may carry a fee. Arrivals more than 10 minutes late are treated as canceled, and the deposit is not refunded or transferred. Clients should attend alone unless previously approved, and children are not permitted at appointments.

To prepare, hair should be about a quarter inch long, and clients should avoid shaving for two to three weeks beforehand. Waxing is not performed on sunburned, irritated, broken, or compromised skin. Clients should contact the studio before using numbing products ahead of a Brazilian, and should disclose retinol, tretinoin, AHAs, BHAs, benzoyl peroxide, and strong exfoliants used on the waxed area. For about 24 hours afterward, the studio suggests avoiding workouts, saunas, hot tubs, tanning, and tight clothing. Most clients return every four to six weeks.

Payment is accepted in cash (exact change preferred), by Tap to Pay, or by manually entered card at the appointment. Zelle and Venmo are not accepted.
