The SPACE

The SPACE is a second-floor studio above Salon Pollyanna in Liberty Township, reached through the front door of the teal house, with parking in the lot behind the building. Chelsea Reese owns the studio and works there as its esthetician, building a practice around holistic skincare, non-toxic treatments, lymphatic massage and facials. The business says its ingredients are natural and safe and effective.

Facials are the core of the menu. Each one begins with a double cleanse and warm towels, then uses one or two plant-based masks from the Botnia backbar, hydrosols, massage and finishing products. Lymphatic massage is built into the facials. The Space Facial is customized and starts at $85 for 45 minutes, $100 for 60 and $125 for 80. A first-time client facial is $98 for 45 minutes, $120 for 60 or $138 for 80, with extra time set aside for a consultation. There is also a 60-minute Back Facial at $100, a 30-minute Mini Facial for established clients that does not include facial massage, and a Birthday Facial for clients during their birthday month.

Treatment masks are mixed fresh in the studio from powders, herbal glycerites, acids, hydrosols, flower waters, honey or aloe. Add-ons are offered at the client's request or at the esthetician's discretion, and the esthetician may advise against some modalities. Booking is by appointment only, on Mondays, Fridays and select Saturdays. Appointments are canceled by replying to the automated reminders. The studio has no salon phone line; clients reach it by email, the contact form, Facebook or Instagram, and phone is kept for emergencies. Payment is by credit card, PayPal, Venmo, Google Pay or cash, and tips are accepted. The studio does not keep change.
