The SKN bar was founded by Anna, a licensed Master Aesthetician, who also created the BLENDS skincare line sold and compounded in-house. The business is run as the SKN bar LLC and works from a single location at 5225 Wisconsin Ave NW in Washington, DC 20015.
The studio's view is that skin health is personal, so each facial is adjusted to the condition of the skin on the day of the visit. Treatments use botanical and active ingredients from around the world, compounded for each client. The business describes its treatments as result-driven and says its formulas are made without sorting clients by age or skin type.
First-time clients begin with a consultation about their skin concerns and goals. After that conversation, the technique and the activities of the treatment can be changed to suit the skin's current state. A complimentary skin analysis with refreshments is included in the appointment, and recommendations can cover lifestyle habits, changes to a home routine and a suggested list of ingredients. Treatment plans pair in-studio work with at-home care, and each client receives personalized progress tracking and follow-up with Anna.
Services run from a 15-minute educational consultation at no charge, through facial boosters and 30- to 80-minute facials, to a 40-minute BioRePeel chemical peel and microdermabrasion. Clients can also book a group facial for friends at $100 per guest. Gift certificates are sold for $150.
Each treatment is designed around the individual client's skin, starting from a consultation and adjusted at every visit with follow-up and at-home guidance.
