About

The Skin Element was founded in 2016 by Heidi Sabogal and is located in Suite 203 on the second floor of the Dolphin Centre building in Sweetwater. Clients take the elevator inside the building. The studio focuses on handcrafted corrective facials, each shaped around the client's skin condition, and also offers skin treatments, laser sessions, PRP and eyebrow services.

Each facial begins with an examination of the client's skin, after which products, masks and enhancements are chosen for that client. New clients complete a form and a consultation before their first service, and that time is included in the appointment. The signature touch includes extractions and a deep tissue sculpting facial massage. The one-hour Signature Corrective Facial adds LED light therapy and a hydrating mask with cryotherapy.

The menu also covers HydraFacial, a multi-step session that cleans, exfoliates and moisturizes the skin, with no recovery time. Microneedling is booked as a series of visits and is aimed at acne marks, fine lines, enlarged pores and rough or uneven skin. PRP is offered for thinning hair and acne marks, and for stretch marks, uneven pigment, loss of facial volume, wrinkles and skin that looks crepey, with fine lines also addressed. DMK Enzyme Therapy is a paramedical service that uses an enzyme mask to lift and firm the skin. Peels come in mandelic, berry, tranexamic brightening, TCA and laser versions. Laser treatments are available for specific areas or the full body, and laser hair removal is also offered.

The Acne Treatment Bootcamp is a guided program of 12 to 16 weeks that combines acne-safe skincare products with in-office treatments. Treatments are given every two weeks until the skin clears, which usually takes 6 to 12 weeks. The first visit runs about 1.5 hours and includes a questionnaire, skin analysis, sensitivity testing and preliminary photos. Each treatment takes one hour and costs $95. The first product set typically runs $150 to $200 and is said to last about two months or more, with products adjusted as treatment progresses. The salon describes these products as clinical-strength.

Staff are certified by Associated Skin Care Professionals, and the salon is a member of The Esthetics Association of Florida. It says it supports continuing education and follows high-standard safety protocols. Clients must be at least 18, and only the client receiving a service may be in the treatment room. Laser clients must come shaved, or can have an area shaved for a $25 fee if notified in advance, and must wear a provided robe and protective goggles. No-shows or same-day cancellations under 4 hours before an appointment are charged 50% of the service. Laser appointments need 24 hours notice to cancel, with a $35 fee. Packages are non-refundable and gift certificates expire one year after purchase. Major credit cards and exact cash are accepted, and gratuity is appreciated but not included. The salon also offers a private one-on-one hands-on training course for licensed aestheticians at $3,500, with a certificate of completion, though dates are limited.

Each facial starts with a skin examination, and treatments are selected for the individual client to guide and educate them toward their skin goals.
