The Set by KM is a small, private nail studio in Southwest Austin. It sits in Room 101 of Unit 150 at 7010 State Hwy 71, inside The Marquise Salon Suites, and is run by its owner and artist, Kristi.
Manicure options range from a no-polish buff and shine to gel, dip powder, builder gel and Gel-X soft gel extensions. Clients can also bring their own lacquer for a BYOL manicure, in which the studio supplies the base and top coat. Nail art is priced in three tiers based on time and complexity, from simple accents such as French, chrome, cat eye and aura designs up to intricate, fully customized hand-painted work.
The studio does not apply new acrylic sets, but it does offer acrylic removal, either as a stand-alone service or as an add-on before a new nail service. Stand-alone removal includes light nail shaping. Gel and dip removal can be added to other services as well.
Booked appointments are for the person receiving the service, so guests and children need prior approval to attend. Changes to a booking, whether cancelling or moving it, require 24 hours' notice. A cancellation made on the day of the appointment incurs a fee of half the price of the service booked, while a missed appointment without notice is billed at the full price. Anyone who arrives more than a quarter of an hour late may be asked to rebook, and a late-cancellation fee could also apply.
Each set is built around the individual client, with carefully chosen, cruelty-free formulas and a focus on the craft.
