The Neon Hare was started by stylists Heather England, Jessica Avant and Katie Harrington, who met while working at a salon in Canton, Baltimore. They formed the business after several years of salon classes, out-of-state courses and conferences.

The studio is set up as a shared space. The stylists work side by side, but each runs an individual business, so clients book with a specific stylist rather than the studio as a whole. The studio aims to be welcoming to anyone who wants to express themselves through their hair.

Because everything is by appointment, the stylists keep different weekly schedules, with late evenings on Wednesdays and Thursdays at most of the desks. Starting prices are listed by each stylist, and cuts, color and styling prices can rise with extra time, product or technical difficulty. Vivid, fantasy, corrective and platinum color are arranged through a consultation first.

A shared studio where each stylist keeps an independent practice, and each client's look is tailored to their own style and vision.
