The Nayl House

The Nayl House is a nail salon on East Franklin Boulevard in Gastonia. The menu is built around enhancements, with manicures, pedicures, gel polish, nail art and nail repairs alongside. The salon describes its experience as luxurious and names that as its focus.

Enhancement work covers acrylic, builder and hard gel refills, which start at $45 and take about 45 minutes. Full sets in acrylic, hard gel or builder gel start at $60 and take about an hour, with gel polish and one color choice included. Ombre full sets are done entirely in acrylic and priced by length. Sculpture nails add length with an overlay on the natural nail, without tips. Nail shaping to stiletto, round, oval or almond is available on any length of enhancement from $5, about 30 minutes.

Some services are set up for specific clients. A braiders' set leaves the short thumb, pointer and middle nails short and the ring and pinky nails longer, for hair stylists and braiders. A freestyle set costs $150 and takes about 2.5 hours; the artist chooses the design, which can be an overlay or tips, and booking means accepting the finished design without client input. A young ladies special for ages 8 to 16 costs $65, takes about 1.5 hours and includes a full set with basic nail art. Tooth gem enhancements start at $30 and take about 20 minutes or more. With proper care they can last three to nine months. The salon recommends a dentist for removal, and clients with toothache, fever, facial swelling, or trouble breathing or swallowing are not candidates.

Manicures start at $40 and take about 45 minutes, with a chic dry option or a spa option that includes a soak and hand scrub, plus one gel color. Pedicures start at $15 and take about 30 minutes, with chic, spa and luxurious options that include gel polish. Pedi spa add-ons start at $20. Acrylic toe overlays are available as an add-on from $5, either as big toe glam for large toes or glam toes for all ten toes with one gel polish. Gel polish or a polish change for hands or feet starts at $30 and takes about 45 minutes. Hand-painted nail art starts at $8, and bling, charms and cluster add-ons start at $10, priced per nail or per two nails. Nail repairs and soak off start at $5 per nail and take about 20 minutes; repairs include gel polish but no designs, and more than five repairs are charged as a full set.

New clients pay a $25 non-refundable deposit by Apple Pay or Cash App to book, and the deposit goes toward the service. Appointments after 6pm carry a $50 fee. Cancellations need 48 hours' notice, and later cancellations carry a $35 fee; a declined card for that fee marks the client as a no-show. Changes or cancellations made up to two days ahead carry no fee, while same-day cancellations do. A 15-minute grace period applies to late arrivals, after which $1 per minute is charged. New full sets carry a 3-day guarantee, and fills do not qualify. Fills are not done over work from other salons, so nails must be bare or have a booked soak off. Children are not allowed at appointments unless they are being serviced. The online shop holds in-store pickups for 48 hours only, and refunds are not given, with store credit at the owner's discretion; sale items are non-refundable.
