The Moxie Effect

The Moxie Effect is a hair salon in Kingwood, Texas. Its menu covers haircuts and styling, blowouts, silk presses, smoothing treatments, grey coverage, highlights and color correction. Bigger color plans usually begin with a Color Transformation Consultation, where clients bring inspiration photos and can have a strand test if needed.

Cuts come in a few formats. A Cut + Style includes a shampoo, scalp massage, custom cut and styling. A Wet or Dry Cut gives a custom cut without styling for women who want that option. Girl's Cut + Style is for children ages 1 to 12 and includes a lice screening. Blowouts are priced by hair length, with separate options for hair above the shoulders and hair past them. A Silk Press is offered for naturally curly, coarse hair.

Color work is planned around how often clients return. Grey coverage ranges from covering roots only to grey blending that uses highlights. Highlight services range from a first full highlight service to touch-ups booked every few months, and a demi-permanent color refresh is available for shorter intervals. Smoothing treatments include a Brazilian Blowout and a Keratin Complex, both done over a long appointment.

New clients pay a deposit that ranges from $19 to $117 depending on the service. A 50% fee applies to no-shows and to cancellations made within 12 hours of the appointment. Gift cards come in $50, $75, $100 and $200 amounts or a custom amount, and gift card sales are final. The salon is open most days from 9 AM, with Sunday hours from 11 AM to 4 PM.
