The Modern Collective Salon

The salon describes itself as a West Coast modern-inspired salon and the only one of its kind in Indianapolis. Rather than one shared menu, it is built around a group of artists who each bring their own skills, so guests choose a stylist for what that person offers.

Extensions are the salon's central service. Artists are trained in several named methods, including Natural Beaded Rows, Invisible Bead Extensions, Habit Hand-tied Extensions, the Luna Method, JZ Styles, SKW, Meraki Hair Extensions, LineOne and Hotheads. Extension appointments are designed to be low maintenance at home, with washing and styling needed less often. Maintenance move-up visits are recommended every six to eight weeks and should be booked in advance. Guests bringing in hair from another salon for a maintenance visit need an in-person consultation first.

Beyond extensions, the salon offers blowouts and styling, hair color through its color specialists, lash services, hair removal, esthetician services and makeup artistry. The salon uses Davines as its exclusive product line.

Guests who want to work during an appointment can use the outlets and wifi provided. Background noise and phone-call pauses are not accommodated, but silent appointments can be requested by emailing the salon or the stylist.
