The Maya Salon takes its name from the Tagalog word mayaman, meaning rich. Rather than a single team under one roof, it is a cooperative of independent salon artists and stylists who share the space, with hair, skin and shop services offered under one address.

Azelle Santa Ana opened the salon to serve people in her own community, and Patrick Santa Ana is listed as co-founder. The salon names respect, love, self leadership and community as its core values, and says it wants clients to leave feeling confident, cared for and renewed.

Clients can book through the online scheduler, choose an artist directly, or send a request form, and an artist contacts them within 24 hours. Requests can also be made by calling or texting. Clients unsure which service they want can book a free virtual consultation first. A blowdry style is included with every service. The salon notes that prices depend on client length, hair density and the amount of product used.

Each artist manages their own schedule and cancellation policy. The salon asks for at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule, and no-shows or last-minute cancellations may carry a fee at the stylist's discretion.
