The Makeup Institute

The Makeup Institute operates two sides under one roof: a makeup artistry school and a salon in Lyndhurst, Ohio. The business describes itself as a woman-owned business and calls itself Ohio's premier makeup artistry school and luxury salon.

The school offers three course lengths. The 2 week course is 16 hours and is an intensive short-term program covering essential makeup techniques. School classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with a morning session from 9am to 1pm and an evening session from 6pm to 10pm. Applicants must be at least 16 years old. A high school diploma or GED is recommended but not required. Admission involves a completed application form, an online application, an interview with the admissions team and a deposit to enroll.

The salon side offers brow tinting, eyelash application, full face makeup and facial waxing. Makeup appointments can be booked online or taken as walk-ins Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 6pm. The business also sells an exclusive product line and professional tools in its store.
