The Louse Girl

The Louse Girl was founded by Stacey Jolicoeur and has served Metro Atlanta families for more than nine years.

Treatment includes a scalp and hair check, a section-by-section comb-out, nit removal support, guidance on home care, and prevention tips. Appointments are described as calm, private and free of judgment, with the aim of explaining what is happening, what needs to be done, and what does not need worry.

Girls Treatments are priced for longer, thicker or textured hair and more detailed comb-outs, and usually take about one to one and a half hours. Boys Treatments are for shorter hairstyles and usually take about 30 minutes to an hour. Matted hair that needs extra detangling is charged at $50 per 30 minutes, though the booking page notes this fee can be avoided if hair is detangled before the technician arrives.

Schools, camps, daycares, teams and group programs can book group head checks at $4 per person. These are primarily screenings: if lice or nits are found, families receive next steps and can book a separate in-home treatment. A private or semi-private space is recommended for group checks, and staff or leaders can be included on request.

Clients are asked to avoid heavy oils, gels or styling products right before the appointment. After treatment, the business advises washing recently used bedding, towels and clothing and cleaning combs and brushes; the whole home usually does not need cleaning. Children can often return to school once treatment has started, subject to each school's policy. Multiple family members can be checked in one appointment, each priced separately.

Prices do not include the travel fee, and final pricing may vary by appointment type, location, number of people, and the length or condition of the hair. Clients outside the main Metro Atlanta area are asked to contact the business before booking, and those near Columbus or Macon should call for a travel fee estimate.

Treatments are pesticide-free and focus on careful checking, combing and nit removal rather than harsh chemical products.

Appointments take place in the client's own home, in a calm and private setting.
