The Loc Loft was founded by Ms. Ty, who built the salon from the ground up as a space for natural loc care. The salon works only with natural hair, a policy it says is based on health research about synthetic hair products.

Loc work covers starter locs, retwists with a wash, loc repair and reconstruction, loc wicks, and maintenance for clients who have gone more than three months without a retwist. Scalp and hair treatments include steam, hot oil, deep conditioning, protein strengthening and scalp massage.

Appointments are booked only through the salon's Booksy page. Cancellations or reschedules need at least 6 hours' notice, and late cancellations may carry a fee. Service times depend on hair length, density and the service, and the booking confirmation gives an estimated duration. Clients are asked to arrive with clean natural hair and may bring their preferred products.
